We are happy to announce the release of an update to Flight Simulator Scenery
Creator: Version 1.5.6 on January17th, 2003.
Flight Simulator Scenery Creator is a simple, yet powerful,
graphical editor that enables you to add additional scenery of your own design
to Microsoft® Flight Simulator using a point-and-click interface. Some of the new features in version
1.5 include:
- Open GL enabled drawing for realistic texture rendering.
- New objects, including the Taxiway Line, Tower, Surface Area, Exclusion,
and SCASM code.
- New dialog boxes for an better user experience.
- Special multiple object properties, now select multiple buildings and be
able to change all of the properties of the buildings, not just the generic
position attributes.
- Automatic snap points to line - have seamless edges between polygons and
taxiway lines.
- Text fields support multiple units of measure.
- Create rows of Buildings or Macros using the Line Object.
- Export Scenery Wizard gets your scenery into Microsoft Flight Simulator
quickly and with no fuss.
- Tip of the Day provides helpful hints for designing scenery.
- Rotate your perspective, but not your scenery. North does not always have
to point up anymore!
The update fixes the following issues (from version 1.5.4):
- Autosave dialog pops up when opening a second instance of the program.
- Problems loading library objects in Macro properties box.
- Position of the taxiway lines shift at night.
- Random error messages when exiting FSSC after using the Cut operation on a
polygon.
- A file should be added to the most recently used list when it is double
clicked in Explorer.
- Paste should unselect any currently selected objects.
- Removed support for overruns with different textures until the flashing
problem can be determined.
- The building repeat fields did not save values properly under the Standard
(ft) measurement setting.
- Creating very large polygons/roads/etc. may sometimes give an overflow error
when exporting.
FS Scenery Creator 1.5.6 will be made available through AVSIM's file library
both as an upgrade and a full installation package, and can
be accessed through the official FS Scenery Creator webpage,
http://www.fssc.avsim.net/.
